CF Lime Ridge invites community to participate in virtual Run/Walk in support of local charity event

(HAMILTON, ON) September 15, 2020 - As a commitment to its continued support of mental health and suicide prevention, CF Lime Ridge is proud to host Running for Rachael's Virtual run/walk event on Sunday, September 27, 2020.

Running for Rachael is the annual event for the Suicide Prevention Community Council of Hamilton (SPCCH), a Hamilton-based charitable organization with city-wide programs focused on suicide prevention that build hope, help and healing in the community. Last year’s event funded a range of initiatives, including the Brief Intervention and Contact Pilot Program at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton for individuals in need of support. Valuable crisis and mental health information is delivered through various training and education programs.

"During these unprecedented times, we’re committed to reinforcing our ties with the local community," says Liem Vu, General Manager at CF Lime Ridge. "We’re proud to host this year’s  Running for Rachael Virtual event to provide our community with a safe way to support mental health awareness in Hamilton."

While registration is free, fundraising and donations of $10 or more are encouraged, and all proceeds from the event will advance the work of the Suicide Prevention Community Council of Hamilton. This year’s funding will support the launch of Be Safe, a mobile app that provides users with mental health and addiction resources and directs them towards the best options for their needs. In addition, interactive-online suicide prevention training will be made available to support the community.

“We’re grateful to CF Lime Ridge for partnering with us and making it possible to continue to advance our work of building hope, help and healing in our community,“ says Sid Stacey, Chair of SPCCH.
