Iconic shopping centre celebrates monumental anniversary by giving back to local charity, Seniors Secret Service
(CALGARY, AB) September 16, 2020 - This year marks a major milestone year for CF Chinook Centre as it proudly rings in its 60th anniversary. As one of the city’s most beloved shopping and entertainment destinations, CF Chinook Centre is known for its engaging in-property experiences and diverse retail offering. To commemorate this significant occasion, Cadillac Fairview is honouring its commitment to building vibrant communities by empowering each of its CF Chinook Centre employees to give back to the local community it proudly serves. Now more than ever, community support is vital and Cadillac Fairview is pleased to donate $200 on behalf of each CF Chinook Centre employee to contribute to a local charity. The property team at CF Chinook Centre is thrilled to donate $12,800 to support Seniors Secret Service, a Calgary-based charity dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals 60 years or older who are alone or isolated in the community.

CF Chinook Centre Over the Years
Throughout CF Chinook Centre’s 60-year history, the shopping centre has undergone several redevelopments to continue matching shoppers’ expectations, as well as to evolve to meet ever changing consumer shopping preferences. CF Chinook Centre recently completed a major $101 million redevelopment project that includes: the new 61 Avenue S.W. pedestrian bridge, the revitalization of the centre’s Dining Hall to include 835 seats and feature 20 dining retailers, the South property redevelopment, and the welcoming of first Saks Fifth Avenue in Western Canada to the shopping centre. The centre which featured 45 stores on opening day now offers more than 250 stores and services.
