We’re proud to share that RBC Centre/Simcoe Place has made a $20,000 pledge toward Indspire, this will open in a new tab’s Building Brighter Futures - Indigenous Bursary Awards, complementing the pledges made in June by CF Sherway Gardens, CF Markville, CF Toronto Eaton Centre and Yonge Corporate Centre. 

This investment and a second commitment to a bursary at University of British Columbia, Sauder School of Business (UBC), will empower Indigenous students across Ontario and British Columbia by providing multi-year funding supporting education and career development. In total, CF will donate over $125,000 to Indspire and UBC over the next five years in support of Indigenous education.

In honour of the upcoming National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Friday, September 30th, CF will also be donating $15,000 to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society, this will open in a new tab (IRSSS) which provides essential services to Residential School Survivors, their families, and those dealing with Intergenerational traumas. 

In addition to supporting the IRSSS, over the past two years, CF has invested nearly $235,000 to charities particularly focused on the Indigenous Community, including the Elizabeth Fry Society Calgary, this will open in a new tab and the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund, this will open in a new tab (DWF) in support of their work to build cultural understanding and a path toward reconciliation.
